LUXURY TEAK OUTDOOR FURNITURE

Teak Outdoor Dining Chairs

Solid Grade-A teak dining chairs with mortise-and-tenon joinery, the construction that keeps a chair from developing a wobble. Choose the type that fits how you use the space, or shop complete teak dining table sets with chairs already matched.

Chair types and sizing to the table

Armchairs such as the Director, La Costa, Stella and Palm give the most support over a long meal. Side chairs like the Stella, Palm and Isla take less width. Stacking chairs, including the Venice, Birmingham, Pearl, Siena, Oslo and Klint Rope, stack for storage. Folding chairs like the Devon, Cambria and Winford fold flat between seasons.

Chairs come as all teak or as a teak frame with a woven sling seat and back. Sling models such as the Director Dining Armchair use a weather-resistant polyester sling in Black, Blue, Taupe or White.

These chairs are made for dining tables about 29.5 inches high; the Director Dining Armchair, for example, has an 18.5-inch seat height. For counter and bar tables, use the stools in bar and counter seating. Weight capacity is on each product page (the Director, Birmingham and La Costa chairs are rated to 250 lb), and many chairs are contract-grade, tested to BIFMA 5.1. Most arrive fully assembled.

How teak ages, and how to care for it

New teak arrives golden brown and, left untreated, weathers to a soft silver-grey over roughly 6 to 24 months. The change is cosmetic. Clean twice a year with mild soap and water, scrubbing with the grain, and avoid pressure washers. Choose HiTeak Teak Cleaner for restoring weathered wood, and HiTeak Teak Protector for surface protection when applicable. Follow the product labels and our HiTeak care product guide.

Frequently asked questions and buying guides

What is the difference between a dining armchair and a side chair?

An armchair has arms and gives more support over a long meal; a side chair has no arms and is narrower, so more fit along a table. A common arrangement is armchairs at the ends and side chairs along the sides.

Do teak dining chairs come assembled?

Most arrive fully assembled. Sling models ship with the frame assembled and need only light assembly of the sling seat and back. Assembly details are on each product page.

Can teak dining chairs stay outside in winter?

Yes. Teak stays outdoors year-round without covers or storage. Stacking and folding chairs can be stored to free up space, but it is not required for the wood.

Which chairs match my teak table?

Chairs and tables that share a family name are designed together, such as the Birmingham Stacking Armchair and the Birmingham dining table. For a guaranteed match, shop the teak dining table sets.

Outdoor Chair Guide

Choosing the Right Teak Outdoor Dining Chair

The right teak outdoor dining chair depends on how the space is used, how much room you have around the table, and whether you need everyday seating, flexible guest seating, or hospitality-ready durability. Choose armchairs for comfort, side chairs for efficient layouts, folding chairs for storage, and stacking chairs for flexible outdoor dining spaces.

Armchairs

Best for Comfort

Teak dining armchairs add support for longer meals and work well at the heads of dining tables or around larger outdoor dining layouts.

Side Chairs

Best for Efficient Seating

Teak side chairs keep the layout clean and compact, making them useful for smaller patios, tighter table arrangements, and flexible seating plans.

Folding Chairs

Best for Storage

Folding teak dining chairs are practical for extra guests, seasonal spaces, balconies, and patios where chairs need to be stored between uses.

Stacking Chairs

Best for Flexibility

Stacking teak dining chairs are useful for restaurants, resorts, event spaces, and homes that need durable seating without taking up extra storage room.

FAQ

Choose teak armchairs if you want more support for longer meals, side chairs if you need a cleaner and more compact layout, folding chairs if storage matters, and stacking chairs if you need flexible seating for guests, restaurants, resorts, or hospitality spaces.

A teak armchair includes arms for added comfort and support, making it useful at the heads of dining tables or for longer meals. A teak side chair has a slimmer profile, so it fits more easily along the sides of a table or in tighter outdoor dining layouts.

Yes, well-designed teak dining chairs can be comfortable for long outdoor meals when the proportions, back angle, and seat design are right. For added comfort, choose armchairs, chairs with supportive backs, or designs that can be paired with outdoor cushions.

Teak dining chairs are designed for outdoor use and can remain outside in many climates. Untreated teak naturally develops a silver-gray patina over time. Regular cleaning and proper teak care can help preserve the wood and maintain the desired appearance.

Folding teak chairs are best when you want to store chairs between uses or keep extra seating available for guests. Stacking teak chairs are better when you need several chairs but want them to take up less room when not in use.

Yes, teak dining chairs can work well for restaurants, resorts, hotels, clubs, and other hospitality spaces. For commercial projects, consider chair weight, stackability, replacement-piece support, lead times, and how easily the chairs can be cleaned and moved.
