Folding chairs like the Devon, Cambria and Winford fold flat between seasons. Chairs come as all teak or as a teak frame with a woven sling seat and back. Sling models such as the Director Dining Armchair use a weather-resistant polyester sling in Black, Blue, Taupe or White. These chairs are made for dining tables about 29.5 inches high; the Director Dining Armchair, for example, has an 18.5-inch seat height. For counter and bar tables, use the stools in bar and counter seating. Weight capacity is on each product page (the Director, Birmingham and La Costa chairs are rated to 250 lb), and many chairs are contract-grade, tested to BIFMA 5.1. Most arrive fully assembled. How teak ages, and how to care for itNew teak arrives golden brown and, left untreated, weathers to a soft silver-grey over roughly 6 to 24 months. The change is cosmetic. Clean twice a year with mild soap and water, scrubbing with the grain, and avoid pressure washers. HiTeak does not recommend teak oil; to keep the golden colour, use a teak protector from the teak care range.Frequently asked questions and buying guides What is the difference between a dining armchair and a side chair? An armchair has arms and gives more support over a long meal; a side chair has no arms and is narrower, so more fit along a table. A common arrangement is armchairs at the ends and side chairs along the sides. Do teak dining chairs come assembled? Most arrive fully assembled. Sling models ship with the frame assembled and need only light assembly of the sling seat and back. Assembly details are on each product page. Can teak dining chairs stay outside in winter? Yes. Teak stays outdoors year-round without covers or storage. Stacking and folding chairs can be stored to free up space, but it is not required for the wood. Which chairs match my teak table?
