FAQ

Our furniture comes straight from the manufacturer to ensure you the best competitive edge on the market.

They are 100% Solid Teak Wood made from “kiln dried” lumber, which comes from 100% genuine plantation teak forests that are well-managed, credibly certified from Brazil, Costa Rica, South America, and Burma. We choose timber with older age (above 20 years old) to ensure the wood is more durable and gives a beautiful yellow color. We also carefully select the wood well to get a uniform color for each piece of furniture. With more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing teak wood, we have the knowledge and craftsmanship to make the furniture have the smoothest and most finely sanded finish on the market. For a closer look at our products, please come to our showroom to see for yourself how high-end teak can make a difference in your home life and outdoor leisure.

We believe that customers’ contentment and trust in HiTeak are our top priority; therefore, we work with you one-on-one to ensure you get what you need and that you are beyond satisfied with every single order.

With over 20 years of exporting Teak Furniture to Europe – one of the conservative markets about deforestation, our manufacturer only sources Teak wood from well-managed, ethical, and credible Teak forests from Brazil, Costa Rica, South America, and Burma.

Our factory has the FSC chain of custody (CoC). According to Forest Stewardship Council, “FSC chain of custody (CoC) tracks FSC certified material through the production process – from the forest to the customer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing, and distribution.” Therefore, we are proud to say that our teak wood is from genuine and ethical plantation teak forests.

Teak is very easy to maintain as it takes little to no effort in caring for this wood, yet the wood has the natural beauty of long-lasting life. Our teak furniture does not need to be covered or stored every time it rains or snows. If left untreated outdoors, they will turn into a silvery grey which is preferred by some. To maintain the original color, applications of teak protector or sealer are needed. Black spots on the product after being exposed to the outdoor environment are a result of humidity building up in the wood and are natural mold spores. These spots can be cleaned and should not be considered a defect.

Our teak furniture coming from the factory is “kiln dried” and ready for assembly. The oil inside the wood itself can be enough to protect and polish the furniture. Therefore, we leave the furniture untreated unless stated otherwise. Without Teak oil or Teak protectors, the teak furniture will turn into silvery grey after a year of being left outdoors. Since many customers prefer this look, we leave it up to the customer to choose whether to apply teak oil or not.

Using teak oils will darken the complexion of the wood, giving it a dark rich luster that some like when used both indoors and outdoors.

Please note that we do not recommend oiling your furniture! Oiling your teak furniture creates a maintenance schedule and allows mildew and mold to grow very quickly on your furniture. In addition, teak oil will become splotchy after being exposed to the rain. For more information on teak care, please contact us and our team will assist you with further details.
